Whole food and Processed food

Let’s face as Americans we are confused about what to eat. We are marketed, commercialized and campaigned to death Billions are spent on advertisements to sell products. PRODUCTS!

Check out these crazy statistics!

  • 7% of Americans eat McDonald’s everyday
  • 22% of Americans eat some sort of fast food everyday
  • 30% of the children between the ages 4 and 19 years of age eat fast food everyday (really sad)
  • 90% of peoples budgets that are spent on food are spent of processed food

Processed foods are foods that are transformed from clean raw natural foods to attractive marketable foods and often creating them to have a long shelf life.

They generally are pumped full all kinds of harmful stuff that is not good for us. The stuff that they put in foods to create a product that has a long shelf life isn’t even healthy for our pets.

Really look around

Let’s see if you can picture it like this. Think about two types of foods whole foods or processed foods.

  • Whole Foods = Real food
  • Processed Foods = Fake food

Whole Foods are unrefined, unprocessed, or they are minimally processed before you consume them.

Processed Foods are processed, pumped full of tons of stuff you don’t even know the name of, they are boxed, packaged, convenient they are in the middle of your grocery store. Processed foods are created to be able to market them to you and to make them more attractive.

Some of the characteristics of whole foods are they are natural, they are either grown in the ground or come from an animal naturally, they tend to be thought of as inconvenient because they require some form of preparation whether it is cutting, slicing or cooking, and whole foods tend to be bright in color.

At the other end of the spectrum is processed foods and their characteristics are they are in a box, can, or bag, they are covered with foil or plastic, they are convenient and they are always the same. One bag of chips of the same brand will consistently be the same through out different locations and time. Highly processed foods are stripped of nutrients.

Think about this really think about why you are marketed to why are the food company’s really to you. It’s all about money they want you to continue to eat their product so that they can continue making money. I want you to really see what is coning on here they make money marketing their product to you.

They are not marketing to you to promote your health in fact many of the processed foods are creating serious health issues keeping so many sick and over weight.

There are some simple things that we can do to improve our health.

Choose whole foods over processed foods, it is that simply decide.

Just by doing this you will maintain a healthy weight you will have the nutrients your body needs for good health and you will feel better.
